Happy Birthday to me! Woke up at 4 in order to catch our 5:30 bus to Cinque Terre. Got to La Spezia in Liguria and took a ferry to Vernazza where we spent an hour- very cute, colorful and tiny (me, Julie and Michelle and Jasime, two girls from Oregon that we met up with). Michelle was forced to take a later ferry, so Julie, Jasmine and I hung out in Monterosso: had lunch (I had seafood ravioli, Julie had shrimp, but they were still whole, which was very disconcerting), did a bit of shopping, hit the beach (amazing water, almost as good as Capri), then wandered around town in my swimsuit and got gelato (I love beach towns). Caught the ferry back to Portovenere, where we went up to this little grey and white striped Gothic church at the top of a hill for an amazing view- services there must be really moving- and I got another gelato. Caught the final ferry of the day back to La Spezia and started the bus trip back (talked with Jasmine pretty much the whole way, really nice girl) and I got a birthday call from mom (that unfortunately was cut short by the phone) which was really nice, and got home around 11.
