Firenze

Ok, so up at 4:30 to catch our train to Florence. Spent the day there: hit the Ponte Vecchio (bridge covered in jewellers, very cool), rubbed the boar's nose (and dropped a coin from his mouth into the grate below, both signs that I will come back to Florence some day), went to the Uffizzi galleries (huge, and some of the works are mesmerizing), then wandered, hit the Accedemia and saw the David (although Dad had told me to watch for the Prisoners, and I ended up liking those more), made it to the Duomo (although it was so scorching hot that I didn't end up climbing to the top: maybe next time) and really liked it: it's huge, but very similar in style to the basilica that I liked in Bologna, very clean. Wandered a bit more and met Julie and the train station to catch the train back to Perugia. Went to our group goodbye dinner at La Locanda degli Artisiti, which was alot of food, and I really liked what we had (they even made the effort to offer vegetarian options, which most places don't if they are fixed price). Went to contrapunto for Salsa night and Mike's birthday and hung out there till 1 (Diana, my friend from Romania was there, and she is leaving tomorrow, so we hung out a bit). Very good, tiring day!
