So, it's now 2007. Year of graduation. Definitely year of change (for me at least).
For the first time, I actually went out for new year's eve: went with Jordan (and Kiara and Evan, and Evan's friend Dan) to the Harmony Bar to hear Robbie Fulks. It was an awesome night: the band was hilarious (they put a ton of effort into putting together a "Top Ten of 2006" medley, that included a really funny cover of Justin Timberlake's SexyBack), the food was tasty, the alcohol flowed, and I had someone to kiss at midnight. Plus, I got to take part in an impromptu jam session involving bongos, a guitar and a penny whistle at 2+ in the morning (apparently, this is what happens when you hang out with musicians). Good times.
Had some tasty homemade waffles for breakfast (at 2pm) this "morning" and spent the evening at IOTP. But on to the changes (that have to happen, and that I hope will happen) for the year:
I'm graduating in May.
I need to find a real job (which will hopefully involve me moving out of the Upper Midwest for the first time in my life).
I am going to recommit to getting in shape.
I'll be working really hard on not just improving my dancing, but making sure that I enjoy what I'm doing while I am improving.
Approach everything with a positive outlook: it all has the possibility to be fun, and I'll never know until I try.
Can you tell that there is a theme here? Basically, it's confidence and trying new things (be they new cities, new dance moves, or new groups). And damnit, I'm pretty, I'm special, and [gosh, darnit] people like me ;)
