best wishes to those in London

I had class today (we talked about the various European perspectives on gay marriage), then went back to the apartment and hung out until late afternoon, when my roommate Mike informed me of the bombings in London (I hate living in a media vacuum!). I spent a half hour trying to contact family, and they are thankfully all safe! Then went to the Internet Corner to try and pass this information on to people in the states (as the British phone lines were jammed, the only way I could get through was text messaging, so I guessed that they wouldn't have been able to get through), and was able to reach Abby by phone, but had to email Dad (he did get the message though). Ended up going grocery shopping to calm myself down (I find it very theraputic, I know, I'm strange) and then stayed at home for the rest of the night. Started a book that Julie is lending me (it's about a German U-boat that was found sunken off the Jersey shore, can't remember the name, but it was apparently on the bestseller list), and just tried to come off of the stress high that I had gotten with the news of London. Best wishes to everyone in London, I hope all of your loved ones are safe!
