Funeral
OK, today was Uncle John's funeral in London, so Danny and I were out of the house by 7:15 to pick up Booba. We got to London about 10:30, so we visited her father and sister's graves before the ceremony, which was very nice, but very orthodox (I didn't count towards the minyan). All told, it was: me, Danny, Booba, Morton, Gina, Paula, David, Bobbie, Irving, Anthony, Bessie, Estelle, Michael, Adrian and her two sons. We went out to eat afterwards, and while it was not the way I would have chosen, it was really nice to see everyone (even if Aunt Bessie did give me a hard time for not having called her when I was in London before- and I was planning on doing it the next time I'm there). We headed back around 1, and were almost all the way to Nottingham, when we hit a diversion (there had been an accident) and had to wait almost an hour and a half to get 1 mile. We dropped off Booba, then headed home, where Maggie already had people showing up for their semi-retirement party from the restaurant (which had already been postponed once, so they didn't feel like they could again). It was a really fun night (especially because people were dwelling on my accent- apparently they find it really nice) and I got to know the people there much better, which was nice. Went off to bed completely knackered at about 11:30.
