Up nice and early to pack my bag (thankfully it will be the last time for a while!). Got 2 brioche for breakfast and a quick meeting with Menechella before commencing with the daily wandering. Looked for a college ruled notebook for class and they don't seem to make them here. Checked email and ran into quite a few people at the internet point, so we decided to do a dry run to Via Pompili, where we'll be living, which is not too far from the center, but it's pretty hilly to get there. After that, it was gelato time (watermelon), and then hanging out at the hostel. At 5:30 we took a cab to Via Pompili and got out rooms, which are amazing! Julie, Mike and I have a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, 1 kitchen apartment, spacious and nice, but it has a HUGE terrace right off Julie and I's room! 21 by 34 tiles (Mike counted) and we're talking pretty big tiles, with an amazing view of the hills! Luckily, we got the only apartment with that! We went grocery shopping and Mike cooked an amazing dinner, which we ate on the terrace watching the sunset reflected on the clouds (we look east), then I unpacked while they did other stuff and we headed down to the square to meet Becky, Leigh and Vanessa (whoo is leaving at 2 am) where we ended up sitting with them through their 4 hour dinner. Julie and I headed back, view is also great at night, now bed!

I seriously cannot stress enough the coolness of this apartment: it's at the very top of one of the hills in town, so the view is amazing, and we get a breeze, it's huge, it's in amazing conditon, fully furnished, has working shutters, so it stays cool... it is going to be such a HUGE step down to move into my little efficiency this fall :) It was such a shock, because we opened the shutter doors expecting -maybe- a small balcony and we see this HUGE terrace with this gorgeous view! I hope everyone else gets a wonderful surprise like this, because it has made me soooo insanely happy!
